2013 Concerts in the Park Entertainment Schedule
Blendon Township is hosting it’s first ever Concerts In The Park series to kick off Friday, June 14th from 6pm to 8pm at Ridgewood Park located on Buenos Aires Blvd. The Huber Ridge Area Association, Inc. has been organizing the event in conjunction with the township as a celebration of COMMUNITY as well as to highlight the many improvements to the park in the past year, most particularly the addition of a beautiful gazebo.
Musical acts engaged for this concert series are:
Kelly Goodrich and the Rhythm Kings; Friday, June 14th6pm to 8pm
Hang Time; Saturday, July 13th6pm to 8pm
These Guys Live!; Saturday, September 146pm to 8pm
All entertainment is family-oriented!
The first concert on Friday, June 14th features an ALL FREE event, including hot dogs, chips, cold drinks, cotton candy, sno cones, bounce house and of course entertainment!
BlendonTownship and Huber Ridge Area Association will also be collecting canned food to benefit
WARM (Westerville Area Resource Ministry) who holds a highly acclaimed summer lunch program in Ridgewood park each year. WARM is also going to be present at the concert with a few volunteers to help the township and neighborhood association.
Additionally, the Blendon Senior Center will hold a 50-50 raffle at the concert with the proceeds benefiting the concert series.
The other two concerts will feature food trucks from which concert goers can purchase food, snacks and refreshments. Do you know of a food truck owner or do you have a favorite food truck that you'd like to suggest for our July or September concert? If so send that suggestion to Carolyn Cordray President@huberridge.org and we'll be sure the planning committee gets your suggestion! Of course everyone is welcome to pack a picnic dinner and bring it with you, please keep in mind, that no alcoholic beverages are allowed in the park.
How can you help out with the concert? What better way to give of your time to a community event while listening to music, socializing with your neighbors while manning refreshment stand, building sno-cones, fluffing cotton candy, directing traffic, handing out programs or maybe playing with the kids to ensure their safety in the bounce house? We are so excited about the concerts in the park, but to ensure its success, we need you and want you to be a part of it!!! If you are interested or want more details, please send Claudia Carney an email at: Secretary@Huberridge.org
So plan to attend this wonderful event for the whole family, just bring your chairs or a blanket for a wonderful concert with your neighbors at dusk on Friday, June 14h, Saturday, July 13th and
finally on Saturday, September 14th. We hope to see you there!
