Franklin Soil and Water, together with the City of Columbus and other local governments, is beginning its 4th GreenSpot Rain Barrel Program season starting April 1, 2014 and continuing until October 1, 2014. For only $55, GreenSpot members are invited to purchase a reduced-price 45-gallon rain barrel (limit one per household).
The program helps homeowners understand how stormwater runoff affects local water quality, streambank erosion, and flooding and how they can save money and conserve water and energy by not using potable water for landscaping or gardens. The GreenSpot Rain Barrel program is available to Franklin County residents and participating municipalities’ residents only.
There are two ways you can qualify for a reduced-rate rain barrel.
- Attend an in-person educational workshop
- Participate in an online course and pass a 10-question quiz (opens April 1, 2014).
There are two ways to register and pay to attend an in-person workshop:
