Blendon Township Corridor Study

Blendon Township and the Blendon-Westerville JEDZ Board of Directors are leading a planning project to create a Strategic Area Plan for the Westerville Road area from I-270 to Paris Court. The project will evaluate the current and future development potential for various market segments in the study area, identify target development areas within the study area that are currently vacant or underutilized, and develop a vision and strategy for these areas that will respond to opportunities in the regional marketplace. 

 

OHM Advisors has been retained to assist in the planning process, bringing significant expertise in engineering, architecture, urban design, and city planning.  Located in Columbus and Gahanna, and with over 50 years of public and private sector experience, their mission of advancing communities is well suited to address the needs of the Township.

 

Other project partners include the Danter Company who will be performing a detailed market assessment to inform the overall development strategy and program. IceMiller LLP is also contributing to the project by identifying specific redevelopment strategies, programs, and incentives that will help guide and inform the overall redevelopment strategy for the target development areas.        

 

A critical component of this project is feedback and guidance from community stakeholders such as yourself.  Your insight and ideas will become the basis for this plan, and will be incorporated into the overall vision for the future of the Westerville Road area.

 

Stakeholder meetings are tentatively scheduled for September 23rd, from 10:00-12:00 and from 1:30-3:30 at the Township Building located at 6530 S. Hempstead Road.
