The caller kept eyes on the subject and reported his description, actions and location while he ransacked and removed items quickly from three cars. BTPD officers arrived and the subject hid behind a pickup truck. Officers arrested the subject and charged him with theft. An accomplice who dropped off the subject had left the scene prior to police arrival in a gold or silver car with a loud muffler. Officers checked the area for that vehicle on the way to Sagebrush, and immediately after the arrest but did not locate it. This car matches the description of similar crimes in Columbus and Westerville earlier the same morning.
