Holiday Weekend Police Activity; February 13-14-15-16, 2015


9:35pm - Non-injury crash at SR3 & Morse Rd in front of Speedway.  At-fault driver  charged with improper backing & possession of marijuana. Passenger in at-fault vehicle arrested for active warrants for assault and truancy. Not-at-fault driver gave false personal information, charged with Falsification.


6:47am - Suspicious silver Nissan vehicle on Bluebonnet Ct. Officer located the vehicle who was delivering newspapers.

9:09 am - Duffle bag with personal items found outside of PNC Bank at Sunbury Plaza.

1:09pm - Report of a suspicious vehicle backed into a driveway on Dempsey Rd. Officer made contact with the driver who had pulled off the road during the "whiteout".

3:43pm - BTPD Officer observed a suspicious car on Adda Ave. Made contact with a male & female. Male had active traffic warrants. Arrested for the warrants and heroin & a hypodermic needle was found in his possession for additional charges.

10:36pm - Non-injury crash at SR161 & Strawberry Farms Blvd. At-fault driver was intoxicated & no operators license, and his passenger had active arrest warrants out of Arkansas. Determined to have occurred on Columbus jurisdiction. Assisted CPD in handling.


12:17am - BTPD Officer observed a suspicious vehicle on the lot of a closed business on Morse Rd. Both drive and passenger charged with possession of marijuana.

2:49am - Male, white subject stole two cases of beer from BP at Sunbury Plaza. Fled in a dark colored hatchback. Area checked, not located.

11:14am - Hit-skip at SR3 & Paris Blvd. At-fault driver stayed at scene. The not-at-fault driver in a gold Ford Fusion refused to provide info and fled the scene.

11:18pm - Report of six people fighting in the parking lot at Sunbury Plaza. One combatant still remaining at the scene with a head laceration. Refused treatment, refused report.


1:14am - Report of an I-phone stolen at Sunbury Plaza. BTPD Officers followed the "ping" to a residence in Little Turtle and recovered the phone. No charges, subject claimed to have found the phone.

7:40am - Report of a suspicious male, white subject with a black coat & a brown gym bag at the front door of a house on Buenos Aries Blvd. Subject walked toward the school. Area checked, not located.

5:15pm - Injury crash hit-skip at SR3 & SR161. Suspect vehicle described as a "white truck" left the scene.

Other (in addition to what is listed above); 1 lockout, 7 non-injury crashes, 6 injury crashes, 5 traffic complaints, 8 false alarms, 1 business dispute, 1 identity theft (false tax return), 1 well being check, 1 domestic dispute, 1 suicide threat, 1 suicide attempt, 1 violation of protection order (arrest), 1 parking complaint.
