Weekend Police Activity; March 20-21-22, 2015


8:24am – Assist FCSO with a warrant on Hunt Club Rd. North.

7:15pm – Report of a suspicious tan Volvo at Hoover Dam Park. Area checked, not located.

7:55pm – Found brown & white pit bull dog at Paris & Buenos Aires. Turned over to Franklin County Animal Control. Ph # 614.525.3647.

9:45pm – Sunbury Plaza, report of a male & female acting suspicious, possible shoplifters. Male dropped items and left in a vehicle driven by the female. The car was stopped for a traffic violation. No charges on theft. Female driver (age 25) arrested on an outstanding warrant for OVI.

BTPD Detective, with other local agencies, execute search warrant, arrested and filed charges on two suspects out of the Kroger Pharmacy robbery from back on March 16.


1:41am – Suspicious vehicle on the lot of a closed business. Turned out to be a legitimate pickup after-hours.

3:07am – Three persons at Hoover Dam Park with flashlights, opened at gate, went into woods. Area checked, not located.

3:31pm – Report of a purse stolen from the church on Paris Blvd.

4:39pm – Report of kids playing in street on Stockholm Rd. not moving for traffic. Contacted and advised.

4:40pm – Assist other agency (BAC).

5:41pm – Suspicious green SUV reported on Paris North. Checked, legally parked, unoccupied.

8:14pm – Loud music complaint on Minerva Ave. Contacted and advised to turn it down.

9:15am – Park Rangers report suspicious persons in a fogged up car at Hoover Dam Park. Officer located a male adult & female adult sitting in the car talking. No violation.

9:17pm – Sunbury & SR161. Suspicious person dressed in all black, walking on road. Officer gave him a ride to his destination in Columbus.

9:31pm – Officer observed a male subject chasing another male subject at Sunbury Plaza. No violation. Stated they were running from a scary noise in the dumpster.

10:23pm – Rangers observed a male adult and a female adult in a car at Hoover Dam Park that they felt was suspicious. Officer made contact; female (age 18) having a possible adverse reaction to an unknown substance had to be restrained, then transported by Medics. Male subject (age 18) charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstruction of justice, disorderly conduct, public intoxication.


12:09am – Detached garage fire on Batavia Court. Black and white cat named “Fancy” went missing during the fire.

12:48am - Water main break at Dempsey & Bader. Fire on the scene, unknown if break related to firefighting in the same area.

1:46am – While directing traffic around the water main break, officer observed a person known to be suspended drive through the scene. Arrested, vehicle impounded.

1:51am – Backup for a Highway Patrol trooper who stopped a person wanted for aggravated robbery on SR3 at Minerva Lake Road.

9:05am – Checked the area of SR161 and Sunbury for a missing severe MRDD adult out of Columbus, requested by CPD. Subject located by CPD at Walmart at Morse & Steltzer.

7:16pm - Report of a male subject selling drugs out of a car at Speedway, Morse & SR3. Located subject who consented to a search. No drugs found.

7:50pm – Report of a woman carrying a large dog into the woods at I-270 & SR3. Area checked, nothing found.

8:09pm – Officer observed a suspicious vehicle on Central College Road. Stopped and locate a male (age 50) drinking alcohol. Cited for open container violation.


Other; 4 traffic complaints, 1 medical (drug overdose), 1 parking complaint, 2 non-injury crashes, 2 injury crashes, 3 domestic disputes, 1 threat, 5 false alarms, 1 landlord/tenant dispute, 1 suicide attempt.
