Weekend Police Activity; March 6-7-8, 2015


10:34am - Former employee causing a disturbance at an office on Executive Parkway. Gone on arrival.

3:06pm - Report of a gun pointed during a road rage incident at SR3 & SR161. Area checked, neither car located. Reported by a third party.

3:39pm - Report of a male and female sitting in a white Chevy pickup truck on the lot of Speedway, Morse & SR3. Male was reported to be hitting the female. Area checked, not located.

3:45pm - Female, white shoplifter fled on foot from Loss Prevention agents at Sunbury Plaza. Dropped stolen property and got into a truck driven by a white, male subject. Investigation continues.

5:37pm - While conducting follow-up investigation of a previous hit-skip crash, BTPD officers located the suspect at apartments near SR3 & SR161. Arrested the driver (male age 30) for hit-skip and driving under suspension. Arrested his passenger (male, age 24) for drug and traffic warrants from Grove City, traffic warrants from Minerva Park, and probation violation out of Delaware County.

9:09pm - Two male, white shoplifters fled from Loss Prevention agents at Sunbury Plaza. Left behind a shopping cart full of stolen property. Investigation continues.

10:21pm - Suspicious vehicle (unoccupied) on Beauty Rose Ave. Officer made contact with owner, all ok.


12:20am - Handicap parking violation at Sunbury Plaza. Driver also charged with driving without a license.

2:18am - OVI arrest Rainier Ave. n/o SR161. (male, age 44).

3:30pm - Panhandler at SR3 & I-270. Officer made contact, subject went elsewhere.

6:18pm - Two reports of a sick raccoon on Bluebird Ct. Area checked, not located.

7:14pm - Caller requested police assistance removing a bat from their house (Sunbury Woods). House checked. Bat was either gone or hiding, not located.

8pm - Report of an intoxicated person loitering on the lot of a business on Morse Rd. Officer gave the person a ride home.

9:36pm - Report of a suspicious male trying car door handles on Madrid Dr. Male white, 180lbs, 6'2", dark sweatshirt, khaki trousers. Area checked, not located. Delayed report (1 hour).

9:40pm - BTPD Officer found a car trunk open on Rangoon Dr. Advised the owner.


3:07am - Single car non-injury crash. Car crashed into the wall on SR161 under Sunbury Rd. Crashed car was then abandoned, left sitting in the lane of travel, hazard to other traffic. Officers impounded the car and located the driver at his home in Columbus. Driver arrested for OVI and leaving the scene. (male, age 21).

11:33am - Report of a suspicious male walking in the parking lot at Sunbury Plaza. Male, white with tan Carhart jacket. Left in a tan hatchback prior to police arrival.

8:53pm - Intoxicated female customer refusing to leave a business at Glengary Center. Transported to a safe place/responsible person(s).

Other: 5 false alarms, 1 telephone threat, 2 lockouts, 2 non-injury crashes, 1 identity theft (false tax return), 1 report of tampering with an odometer, 1 parking complaint, 2 domestic disputes, 1 domestic violence (arrest), 1 missing teenager (returned), 1 traffic complaint, 1 telephone harassment, 1 assist other agency (backup on arrest), 1 landlord-tenant dispute.
