Police Activity; Tuesday June 16, 2015

7 am – Suspected abandoned car found in a field off Smothers Rd. Contacted landowner who said he gave the vehicle owner permission to park it there.

11:20 am – Injury crash at SR161 & Buenos Aires. Two transported to hospital.

11:35 am – Injury crash on I-270 at SR3.

12:56 pm – Two male white subjects attempted to remove equipment out of a landscaper's truck at Sunbury Plaza. Confronted by the lawn crew, they fled southbound on Sunbury Rd. License plate comes back to a stolen car. Multiple agencies checked the area, not located.

12:56 pm – Purse and all contents found in a shopping cart in the parking lot at Sunbury Plaza. Citizen who found it flagged down a BTPD officer who returned it to the owner. Owner said that nothing was missing from the purse.

5:49 pm – Prowler looking in a window on Kilbourne Ave. Area checked, not located. Possibly an estranged relative who is no longer allowed on the property.

6:50 pm – Follow up investigation by BTPD. Heavy construction equipment, reported stolen from SR3 & I-270 on June 10th , was located at the Motel 6 on SR161. With assistance from Columbus Police and Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies, BTPD recovered the equipment. One male adult subject was taken into custody for theft.

Wednesday (early morning hours)

3:29 am – OVI arrest on E. Walnut St. Male driver, age 39.

Other; 1 suicide attempt, 1 theft (known party, arrested by BTPD), 2 false alarms, 1 traffic complaint, 1 domestic dispute.
