Weekend Police Activity; August 14-15-16, 2015

Friday

8:02 am – Shortly after opening for the day, employees of the Blendon Kennel, on Old Dublin-Granville Road, were surprised when a burglar fell through the ceiling. The burglar assaulted an employee while attempting to flee, tried to steal a car in the parking lot, and then ran onto SR161 where he was apprehended by Blendon Twp., Minerva Park and Columbus police officers.

1:17 pm – Report of 2 male, white subjects, who got out of a out of a green Honda, attempting to break into cars in the Glengary Center parking lot. Area checked, unable to locate the suspects but officers did locate their green Honda, which turned out to be a stolen vehicle. Vehicle impounded.

3:16 pm – Non-injury crash; Sunbury & Valley Quail South.

4:50 pm – Items reported stolen out of a camper at SR3 & Morse Rd.

7:50 pm – Caller reported that someone stole the license plate off of his vehicle while it was broken down on the side of the road at SR161 & Buenos Aires Blvd.

Other Friday; 1 lockout, 1 domestic dispute, 1 false alarm.

Saturday

12:01 am – Several doors were found pried but secure at businesses at Sunbury Plaza. Some doors were found unsecure.  Property management contacted to make sure doors were secured. Did not appear to be entry or loss.

12:42 am – Report of a woman screaming on Paris Blvd. Area checked, unable to locate.

9:12 am – Damage to fresh concrete at Hoover Dam Park.

3:12 pm – Injury crash; Sunbury & Valley Quail South.

3:41 pm – Car keys found on the trail at Hoover Dam Park. Officer located owner and returned keys.

5:36 pm – Adult female fell off of the back of a motorcycle on Westerville Rd. Refused medical treatment. No charges.

Other Saturday; 1 open door, 2 false alarm, 1 custody dispute, 1 motorist assist, 2 civil disputes, 1 noise complaint.

Sunday

4:32 am – Intoxicated female walking on SR161. Transported to a safe location.

5:46 am – Male, age 23, found using heroin in a car at a business on Morse Rd. Charges pending.

2:21 pm – Non-injury crash; Sunbury & Smothers.

10:41 pm - Report of two suspicious males with a rifle on Harbin Dr. Officer located known brothers with a BB gun.

Other Sunday; 1 domestic dispute, 1 false alarm, 1 suicide threat.

Monday (early morning hours)

1:36 am – Shots fired; Subjects in 2 cars exchanged gunfire at the pumps at Speedway (SR3 & Dempsey Rd.) and then fled the scene. Unknown if any subjects were injured. There were several witnesses. None of the bystanders were injured. Under investigation.
