Weekend Police Activity; March 17-18-19, 2017


9:30 am – Customer dispute at a business at Glengary Center.

9:52 am – Report of a suspicious male drilling a hole in an exterior wall of a bank at Sunbury Plaza. No uniform, no work truck, no contact with the manager. Verified to be an employee of Aqua Ohio on a legitimate work order.

1:41 pm – Bank robbery at Sunbury Plaza. Male subject showed a note and fled with cash. Under investigation.

11:27 pm – OVI arrest; Carthage Court. Male driver, age 48.

Other Friday; 1 traffic complaint, 1 forgery.


12:14 am – Male subject (age 18) standing in the roadway at Sunbury & Valley Quail South.  Subject cited for underage consumption and released to a relative.

2:56 am – Traffic stop on a vehicle (without headlights) at SR161 & Sunbury Road. Male teenager snuck out of house and took car without parent’s knowledge. Joyriding with 5 other juveniles. Driver cited. All parents called to the scene for pickup.

2:30 pm – Report of multiple tires slashed on two vehicles on Triton Court from overnight.

5:19 pm – Report of a power washer stolen from a garage on Natalie Court.

6:52 pm – Report of a suspicious male subject in the woods behind a business on Morse Road. Area checked, not located.

9:47 pm – Large juvenile party on Paris Blvd. Parents called for pick ups. One juvenile teen (with active arrest warrants) transported to Juvenile Detention Center.

10:02 pm – Several customers causing a disturbance knocking over tables and chairs at a bar at Glengary Center. Gone on arrival.

Other Saturday; 1 medical issue, 1 juvenile complaint, 1 civil dispute, 1 domestic dispute, 1 forgery, 1 assist other agency (MPPD), 2 assist other agency (BAC).


12:20 am – OVI arrest; SR161 & SR3. Male driver (age 38).

1:50 pm – Report of tires slashed on Triton Court.

4:32 pm – Non-injury hit/skip crash; Glengary Center.

Other Sunday; 1 motorist assist (flat tire), 1 false alarm, 1 civil dispute, 1 assist Delaware Co. Sheriff (warrant), 1 theft (internal),.

11:11 pm – Report of shots heard in the area of Sunwood Place. Area checked, nothing found.

MONDAY (early morning hours only)

12:53 am – A BTPD Officer was injured during a traffic stop at SR161 & Buenos Aires Blvd. During the stop, multiple officers were attempting to get a suspected drunk driver out of his vehicle, the driver was able to get the vehicle into gear and drive off. One officer sustained an injured shoulder and was transported to Hospital. Officer was treated and released. Suspect vehicle found abandoned nearby. K9 search did not locate the driver. Under investigation.
