Begining January 2019 Blendon Township is undertaking a project to keep our roads and sidewalks safer. Over the years the trees planted in our neighborhoods have grown, in some cases to the point that their low branches block the sidewalks and the streets. These branches present a hazard to our snow plows, salt trucks, garbage trucks, and the fire engines and EMS vehicles. The solution is to trim back the dangerous branches.
The Township wants to perform the trimming task according to the highest ANSI specifications and the established practices of proper tree pruning, which emphasize the appearance of the tree as well as its future health. This may require cutting some of the limbs back to the trunk. We have retained Westerville Tree service to perform this project.
To do this job in the most professional manner, it may be necessary for Westerville Tree service to enter your property. The project is to begin in February-weather permitting. Because of the variable winter weather, it will only be possible to give you an approximate window of time, not an exact date.
We have directly sent letters to the homes that are in need of service. If you have any questions, please contact the Blendon Township Service Director at 614-882-2673.

We will continue to keep our neighborhoods looking as nice as possible. Thank you for your cooperation.
